How is this service difference from YouTube embed options or emailing YouTube link?
While sending an email, you still need to send the YouTube link. Embeded YouTube on sites still take you back to the YouTube.com and might show offensive videos at the end. However, our service disables linking back to YouTube when clicking on the video that is being watched.
Why is it an issue to link back to YouTube?
Distraction is the main issue. When taken back to the YouTube site, many people waste time viewing the "Related Videos" and/or "Featured Videos" which in turn increases their chance of viewing offensive videos also.
But YouTube provides offensive video filtering already?
Yes. However it does not work well.
Why not leave the option open to the video recipients?
Everyone can. However, a lot of people need help with "control tools" more than others. This service is voluntary and free of charge which allows people to choose for themselves.
Still, everyone can go directly to YouTube?
Yes, you are free to do so. However, there are a lot of people - like us - that don't want to introduce more distractions and/or offensive material unnecessarily to others.
How is this service useful if it does not stop children from visiting YouTube?
Children still need to be supervised while surfing the Internet. This service is a step forward to help in many of the situations mentioned above.
Do SafeShare links expire?
No. They never expire.
I get "Error parsing Youtube feed" when I try to open a SafeShare link
This is a known issue. We are working on it.
Is there a way to embed the cropped video ratherthan rely on a link?
Not currently.
Sometimes the links never open up for me. Why is that?
If this is always the case, there is a big chance that you are using incompatible browser. SafeShare.TV is compatible with most browsers. Try with another browser.
Will this site still work in a school where youtube is blocked?
The answer is heavily depending on how your school configured their proxy filtering.
